South Bank Primary caters to Early Years, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 children.
The ARP places are allocated through the Resource and Support Panel. At each panel meeting, there are representatives from one of the resourced provisions who can offer advice and support to other mainstream schools as required. Children who attend the bases receive a high level of adult support from teaching staff with experience of working with children who have SEND. When attending the resource provision, the children will be on the receiving school roll and removed from their home school roll. They will receive support whilst in the base but also will be part of everyday school life wherever possible. Learners will spend at least 30% of their school day in the mainstream setting but this may need to be introduced through careful transition. Often children will remain at the ARP through till Year 6 but wherever possible they will return to their home school. Transport to the ARP in most cases will be provided by the Local Authority if travelling over three miles.
