Dementia describes a set of symptoms which can affect a person’s ability to carry out every day tasks, their language and behaviour. Dementia can affect a person at any age but it’s more common in people over the age of 65.
You might notice that you or someone you care for is displaying:
- changes in memory;
- different ways of thinking;
- personality changes; or
- different behaviours.
Symptoms vary depending on which type of dementia a person has so understanding the various types of dementia means people can get the right support to help them live better with the condition.
