Working families can receive government funded childcare for foster children aged 9 months – 4 years.
Foster parents must be working in paid employment outside of fostering and meet the eligibility criteria.
Each parent must earn the equivalent of 16 hours a week at national living/minimum wage.
If they have over £100,000 they will not qualify
The foster child must be eligible for funded hours and will be assessed by the local authority.
Foster care work does not count towards the paid work requirement.
