Jo Winspear

My name is Jo, and I live in Guisborough, I am a fully qualified Childminder and Nursery Nurse with my NNEB certification, Level 3 NVQ and Advanced Apprenticeship in Childcare, Learning and Development.

I am Ofsted registered and part of the Aiming High for Disabled Children network (this means that regular checks are made by a co-ordinator to ensure parents that I am providing 100% quality care).

I have a commitment to continued professional development through regular training with the networks and through my insurance via the computer. I have worked as a childminder for since 2006 and before that, in primary schools since 1986. This included working with children with special needs, including ADHD and Asperger’s. I have a up to date Paediatric First Aid Certificate and Public Liability insurance as required by Ofsted and I am working under the EYFS, with individual planning and observations for each child under 5.

I provide a wide variety of stimulating and exciting activities for children of all ages, for example, a large lawned and fenced in garden with outdoor play equipment, mud kitchen, a new wooden climbing frame and slides and a wooden Wendy House. Baking, play dough, painting, drawing, computing, art and craft, TV/DVDs and Wii with Wii fit, Xbox one, sand, gardening, dressing up, books, toys, games, ball pool and plenty more! We go on trips to feed the ducks, down to the beach, to farms etc walks to the woods, to the park and the shops. I hatch out chicks and ducklings for the children to see. I attend the local playgroup and meet up with other childminders and their children.

I’m married with two daughters and have lived in the local area since childhood. My husband, both daughters and my mum are registered as my assistants and have their Paediatric First Aid Certificates and are CRB checked. My daughters also have their level 2 and 3 certificate in childcare. I live next door to the local park, which we love to visit. I have 4 friendly cats, a tortoise named Tia and a tropical fish tank. We have a non-smoking household and I have a full driving license with business cover on my 7-seater car. I offer care full time, part time, full days, before and after school, holiday cover, school holidays and emergency cover.

I offer school drop offs and pickups from the following schools in Guisborough:  Highcliffe Primary and maybe able to offer St Paulinus RC Primary collection and pickup, I accept Tax free childcare vouchers, Busy Bees vouchers (Computershare vouchers ltd), Accor childcare vouchers, kiddicare vouchers, Eden Red vouchers and You at Work vouchers as well as BAC transfers and cash.
