About me
I'm an experienced teacher who moved to childminding over 15 years ago. We do lots of music/singing and crafts. We visit some playgroups so children experience larger groups too. We have a small outdoor space with a variety of equipment and also use local parks, play areas, visits to the local farm, beach and woodlands from time to time. We provide care, space and equipment so children can develop in all areas of their learning in a friendly home from home environment.

SEND experience
Before working as a childminder, I worked in mainstream schools as a music teacher. I have experience in the classroom setting encouraging SEN children to try and adopt a 'can do' attitude towards music and participate in music performance and increase their knowledge here.
In 2011 I did the Early Bird Plus Programme with parents of a child who attended my setting. Also, a follow up meeting in 2012. This child had many additional needs and medical ones too. He was fed by tube and I was given training to use this in 2013, a nutrition flocare infinity external feeding pump.
I was one of Redcar and Cleveland Aiming High Childminders working with SEN children. I did some training courses with this group of childminders.
I have experience working with children with ADHD, various autism, children with special dietary needs, children with physical and medical disabilities, vision and hearing impairments.
I have experience working with social workers and health visitors and have attended several multi-agency meetings to support children in my care.
I did the government's online training units and EYPD course. I have also applied to do the level 3 SEN course offered to help me keep up to date.
