My name is Laurel, I live with my Fiance and 3 children. We are situated on Hunters Hill in Guisborough in a 3 bedroom spacious home, with a rear enclosed garden and on a quiet cul-de-sac.
As a parent of three, I have over 11 years of hands on experience with children of varying ages, including those with additional needs (SEN), and I am continuously expanding my knowledge through ongoing training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
As a parent myself, I know exactly how daunting placing your child into childcare can feel, which is exactly why I care for every child as if they were my own, and help provide a safe, happy and nurturing environment for them all, because I know that’s the level of trust every parent deserves. You will receive regular updates, photos and videos throughout your child's time with us and are welcome to get in touch at any point throughout the day for additional updates.
At Laurel's Ladybugs Childminding I offer a wide range of activities tailored to each child’s age, interests and stage of development. These include creative play, messy play, role play, construction, and activities to support early literacy and numeracy. Your childs personal interests and schemas will always be involved in their play and education to ensure their development continously progresses.
Outdoor play and exploration are a big part of our routine. With local farms and woodland on our door step, we regularly enjoy outdoor experiences. Our rear enclosed garden has lots of things for the children to do, such as sand pits, water play, slides, ride on toys, climbing and balance equipment and a designated 'wild' area with hedgehog houses, wild flowers and bird feeders, where we can observe our local wildlife.
We regularly visit local parks, play areas, libraries, family hubs, shops etc to encourage socialisation and exploration of new environments, and help ensure the children build confidence and a sense of community.
If you have Facebook you can view a large portfolio of photos and videos taken during our day to day activities by searching 'Laurel's Ladybugs Childminding'
I have personal experience supporting children with additional needs. As a parent, my eldest child is currently on the pathway for an autism diagnosis, which has given me valuable insight into supporting communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs and individual learning styles. Ive learnt how to adapt activities, routines and environments to suit each child different needs. And I am committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment where every child feels understood and therefore able to thrive.
I continue to develop my knowledge through ongoing training and CPD
