I know how it feels to leave your child in someone else’s care… it’s not just about finding a space, it’s about finding the right place.
Somewhere they’ll be comforted if they’re upset, encouraged when they’re learning, and welcomed each day with warmth and kindness.
Hi, I’m Michelle, and I run Sticky Fingers Daycare from my home in Guisborough. I’ve created a calm, caring, home-from-home environment where children are treated with the same love, patience and attention I’d want for my own.
I live with my partner, two grown up children ( 20 & 22) and our gorgeous softie black Labrador Scout! Being a smaller, intimate setting means I really get to know each child—their little routines, their personalities, what makes them smile—and I support them in a way that feels natural and reassuring.
A place to feel at home
Our home is a spacious 4-bedroom house with a dedicated playroom just for the children. Outside, we have a large, secure garden where children can laugh, explore, get messy in the mud kitchen, play in the sandpit, and enjoy swings, slides and ride-on toys. It’s a space where childhood can be enjoyed the way it should be.
A little about me
Caring for children has always been at the heart of what I do. I worked with children with additional needs for many years, ran a holiday and after-school club, and trained as a primary school teacher. But more than anything, being a mum has shaped how I care - I understand the trust it takes to leave your child, and how important it is to feel completely comfortable and confident in that decision.
Our days together
I believe childhood should be full of fresh air, play and discovery. We love to spend time outdoors —exploring the nearby woods, visiting parks and the beach, and spending time with other children at groups and activities. At home, we slow things down with crafts, baking, stories and imaginative play, giving children the time and space to just be themselves.
