About me
I offer a home from home environment, emphasising child led activity and play, allowing children to learn and expand on their skills through their own choices and interests, all whilst being encouraged, and given the opportunity to thrive and grow. We develop social skills by attending regular playgroups and play sessions, and through experiences children are able to develop and learn healthy attitudes to peers and adults. We are a family of childminders with my mam and 2 aunties who are also registered, so there is a big support network around my setting to cover emergency care (holiday cover as well as endless play and socialising opportunities for the children).
I accept all government funding from 9 months old as well as tax free childcare and universal childcare. There are no additional costs or top up fees on top of the 30 hour funding. You only pay the hourly childcare rate, once all 30 hours have been used in a week.
I work 7am-6pm, Monday to Friday, covering various primary schools for nursery pick up. Predominantly Wheatlands and St Benedicts.
SEND experience
I have lots of personal experience with SEN. Both of my kids are Autistic. With my son having ADHD, dyspraxia and sensory processing difficulties (SPD) too. With this I have a lot of understanding of the difficulties and differences that arise from these conditions. I have been on sensory workshops and webinars to help my understanding of sensory processing difficulties and the vestibular differences children can have. I have children in my care that also have sight and hearing impairments.
