Nicola Bartlett

My name is Nikki and I am a Level 7 Qualified Primary Teacher with a specialism in Early Years. 

I live in the pretty village of Lazenby, with my husband, 2 children and our very chilled and lazy dog.

I am a Level 7 Qualified Primary Teacher, with a specialism in Early Years, and have worked within childcare and education for over 15 years.

I became an Ofsted Registered Childminder when we had our first child, so that we could spend more time together, and I absolutely loved it. I reignited a passion for caring for children and enabling their development, as well as having an excuse to have fun every single day!

I am attentive and active, and join in with the children’s games. I love being creative and inspiring children to want to make things, as well as encouraging them to explore and play outside whatever the weather.

We visit toddler groups and play sessions, and often go on outings to the local woods, farmyards, beaches, libraries, play areas, swimming pool and animal sanctuaries to enhance the children’s experiences and enjoyment.

As a childminder I enjoy the special bonds that develop between the children, their parents and myself, as part of a small, intimate group, and love to see them grow and develop. 

By allowing them the freedom to play and explore together, their self-confidence grows and they are free to become inquisitive, independent learners in a fun, safe and secure environment.

In my setting, every child is welcomed with warmth, encouragement, and the belief that they are capable, curious, and full of potential. Through calm surroundings and open-ended resources, I aim to create an environment where creativity flourishes, imaginations soar and every day is an adventure.

I have a strong focus on positivity, and always choose my words carefully—using positive language that uplifts, empowers, and helps children feel safe and valued, because when children feel confident and supported, they thrive in every way.
