St Paulinus 30 Hours Provision
How it can help
We are happy to inform you that we are able to offer places of 30 hour provision in our Nursery each year. These places will be offered on the criteria of age, so oldest children will get first chance to take up the places.
If you are not eligible under the criteria but would still like to take up the 30 hour provision (full time or part time) then please speak to Mrs Green, Mrs Bircham or Miss keegan in the school office to discuss alternative payment opportunities.
30 Hours Free Childcare
You may be aware that, for the past couple of years, St Paulinus School is able to offer a small number of extended hours Nursery places to the children who are in their last full year of Nursery. These hours are normally funded by parents using their 30 Hours Free Childcare entitlement.
We are now able to invite parents, including yourself, to apply for places at extra Nursery sessions (in addition to the 15 hours their child will attend in either Morning or Afternoon Nursery) and to book places in our Breakfast/After School Club, using their additional 15 hours per week. We will expect the same pattern of care to be continued throughout the academic year and ask that the application form is completed on this basis. We do, of course, recognise that plans do change and we will do our utmost to accommodate any changes – in this event, please try to give us as much notice as possible. Please remember that places are limited. Thank you.
Here are a few examples of how you can use your extra hours (subject to meeting the Government’s criteria):
Nursery child normally attends Morning* Nursery but needs to stay for the afternoon session as well (child at School 8.30am to 3.15pm all week:
Monday to Friday Mornings fully funded and available to all children (15 hours)
Monday to Friday Afternoons funded by 30 hours entitlement (15 hours)
Monday to Friday lunchtime care (3/4 hour per day) funded by parent @£2 per day
*scenario also applies to a child who normally attends Afternoon Nursery but wishes to use 30 Hours Entitlement to stay on a Morning.
Nursery child normally attends Morning* Nursery but needs to stay for 4 afternoon sessions as well:
Monday to Friday Mornings fully funded and available to all children (15 hours)
4 specified Afternoons funded by 30 hours entitlement (12 hours)
4 specified lunchtime care (3/4 hour per day) funded by 30 hours entitlement (3 hours)
*scenario also applies to a child who normally attends Afternoon Nursery but wishes to use 30 Hours Entitlement to stay on a Morning.
Nursery child normally attends Morning* Nursery but needs to stay for 3 afternoon sessions and 3 Breakfast Club sessions as well:
Monday to Friday Mornings fully funded and available to all children (15 hours)
3 specified Afternoons funded by 30 hours entitlement (9 hours)
3 specified lunchtime care (3/4 hour per day) funded by 30 hours entitlement (2.25 hours)
3 Breakfast Club sessions (1 hour per day) funded by 30 hours entitlement (3 hours)
*scenario also applies to a child who normally attends Afternoon Nursery but wishes to use 30 Hours Entitlement to stay on a Morning.
Please note that these are just examples and we will work with you around your requirements to find the most cost- effective childcare for your child, should you choose to use your entitlement here. This can also include use of our After School Club, if you require it. For your information, Breakfast club starts at 7.30am (standard charge without using 30 hours funding is £5) and After School club runs until 5.45pm (£7).
30 Hours Entitlement is open to children who attend morning Nursery and wish to stay for Afternoon Nursery and also for Afternoon Nursery children, wishing to stay for additional morning sessions. The year group is currently split between the two sessions and, as a number of children stay all day, there is a good mix of children in each session. A place has been offered to you in Morning/Afternoon Nursery but if your circumstances have changed and you need to change Morning/Afternoon sessions for September, please let us know as soon as possible and we will try to accommodate your request. At St Paulinus, we continuously strive to ensure that we are giving the best educational experience to children and are helping to meet the needs of their families, as far as possible.
You can check eligibility at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk Please note that, in order to receive a funded place, you must obtain a code from this website and inform School of this code before we break up for the summer. This code must then be updated every 3 months.
If you have any questions regarding this process, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Green.
We very are very much looking forward to welcoming your child into our School family.
