What are the different types of Special Educational Needs?

Some children may identify as having special educational needs. This could be a difficulty in one area such as a physical difficulty such as hearing impairment. Some children may have a range of difficulties such as physical, learning and mental health difficulty. The SEND Code of Practice brought in Four Broad Areas of Need: Cognition and Learning; Communication and Interaction: Social, Emotional and Mental Health and Sensory and/or Physical. 

For some children, they may have SEND in just one area where some have needs in more than one.
