My child needs help in mainstream school

Here you will find information about what support your child should be getting at school and what to do if you feel they need more support.

The Graduated Approach - Assess, Plan, Do and Review

The Graduated Approach starts in the classroom. Teachers are always assessing a child's learning. If a child is not making expected progress they may put in a short term intervention to close the gaps in their learning. This will be reviewed and if there is still little evidence of progress then school should look to what next steps are needed to support the young person
