Cognition and learning Resources and Recommendations

Here you will find links to handouts and recommendations on how to support learners who may have difficulties acquiring basic literacy skills such as reading, spelling and writing. 

You can use these resources to give ideas on how you can implement strategies in the classroom as well as other support that may be needed. It may not be possible to do all of the recommendations but you can select those appropriate for the learner and implement them into a send support plan then evaluate whether the support/intervention has been successful and there are signs of progress being made. 

Some schools print off the recommendation and highlight/date when the intervention started and use it as a working document.
