Young Carers

A young carer is anyone who is under the age of 18, and who looks after an adult in their household - for example a parent, grandparent, or brother or sister.

You may find that you have more responsibilities around the house than other children of your age, and this can feel stressful or overwhelming at times.

There is support available for young people aged 5-18 who have caring responsibilities for a family member. Support is delivered by the Junction Foundation, a Redcar based organisation.

To arrange an assessment young people can contact The Junction themselves or someone else can do it on their behalf. Their telephone number is 01642 756000 or visit www.thejunctionfoundation.com
