Linking Routes

Linking Routes formerly The Link Charitable Trust, has rebranded to strengthen what we offer, we are now known as Linking Routes

How it can help

What we offer
Our adult service offers 1:1 counselling and 1:1 outreach, providing practical and emotional support.  We host groups and activities such as arts, crafts, women's walk n talk, an allotment, social groups for over 55s and workshops covering pain management.

We offer support for young people aged 14 to 25. Offering 1:1 outreach where a young person is supported to reach a goal. There are also groups and activities such as quiet socials, podcasting workshops and wellbeing workshops offered in schools and colleges.

The children's service offers an art group and is involved with lantern making workshops, the Valley of Light, parades, and poetry workshops. We have a tabletop role-playing group similar to Dungeons and Dragons for 8 to 13 year olds called 'Join the Quest,' and we host a drop-in parent and toddler group where we concentrate on ‘Free Play,’ which is child-driven, self-directed, and unstructured. It encourages children’s initiative, independence and problem-solving, which is fundamental to development.  It emphasizes that true play is intrinsically motivated, voluntary, and imaginative, fostering independence, emotional regulation, and cognitive growth by allowing children to set their own rules and goals.

We support adults, families and children from Redcar and Cleveland

How to get in touch and what to expect
We accept referrals from professionals, NHS services, social prescribers, schools and other charities, we do accept self-referrals.  Once a referral comes in we assign a support worker who will contact the person requiring support and invite them for a meeting to determine what is needed through a series of questions called an initial assessment.
