STARS - Sensory Teaching Advisory and Resource Service

STARS Sensory Support Service, known as STARS, is funded by the council to provide hearing and/or vision support for learners (0 -25 years). The STARS team have qualified teachers who are specially trained in supporting learners with hearing and/or vision loss.

Tees Community Equipment Service (TCES)

NHS North East & North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) has worked with the local authorities in Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton, and Hartlepool to commission a coordinated service to provide equipment for children across Tees.  Health professionals and social care teams now order equipment via Tees Community Equipment Service (TCES).

Unicorn Centre

The Unicorn Centre, a registered charity, is a purpose built riding for the disabled facility which offers riding therapy and learning and training opportunities for over 200 disabled adults and children from the Tees Valley area each week. Opened in 1998, the Centre has become an established part of the local community, with a strong contingent of about 100 local volunteers who assist with riding lessons each week.
